Golden Age Returns to Vintage Poster Auctions

We will be returning to our central London Saleroom this June for what promises to be one the finest sales of  British Railway posters ever held. The Carisbrooke Hall will be reminiscent of the great exhibitions held by the London and North Eastern Railway at the Leicester Galleries in the 1920's and 30's when the public flocked to see the latest designs from the foremost designers of the day.

Amongst the posters on offer from the Golden Age of railway travel is a wonderful single owner collection of the Big Four Railway Companies - Great Western, Southern, London Midland & Scottish, London & North Eastern Railways and the London Underground. All the great artists of the period are represented, including Robert Bartlett, Frank Brangwyn, F Gregory Brown, Leslie Carr, H G Gawthorn, John Hassall, Edward McKnight Kauffer, F H Mason, Frank Newbould, Charles Pears, Gerald Spencer Pryce, Tom Purvis, Dorothea Sharp, Fred Taylor, Norman Wilkinson and Anna Zinkeisen.

The auction takes place on Wednesday 25 June at 12.30 pm. On the 27 June we will be holding an internet only auction of other posters featuring many of interest to collectors, will offer a collection of WW1 Recruiting  and WW2 propaganda, a collection for 1930's Eastern Counties Omnibus Company, Guinness by Gilroy, Continental travel and Russian, Shell, motoring, shipping and railways.
